Marree, in the far North of South Australia
The Art and Place Research Group will be involved in an arts project in Marree, South Australia throughout the first half of 2018. Sue Michael will be the principle artist, painting aspects of place in Marree, but will be supported by Therese Williams, Maggie May and Liz Butler. We bring a wealth of experience and are mindful of the sensitive viewing positions needed when entering the far reaches of South Australia. Our efforts will be supported by the Marree Progress Association, with a grant generously issued from Country Arts SA. Marree will hold its inaugural Arts Rail Trail in July, coinciding with the running of the 2018 Camel Cup. During this time we will be running numerous art workshops such as iPad drawing, night time photography with torch light, stencil printing with gelatine plates, linocuts, pinch pots 'baked' in the coals, and old novels transformed into art journals.
